The Essential New York ... by Amanda Hesser

Since the moment I discovered the New York Times Cooking App, it has been my go-to on what to cook, how to cook it, and best practices. That said, I love an actual cookbook that I can dog-ear, make notes in, and handle with my own two hands, so I was thrilled to hear this book was coming out this year. For yourself, obviously, and the (actual or hopeful) chef in your life, this cookbook is a must-have kitchen companion. This anthology of recipes will bring plenty of happiness to everyone who finds it under the tree this year!
